New
Patients
WELCOME
Begin The Road to A Healthier You.
WHAT TO EXPECT AS A NEW PATIENT
Your first visit will be about an hour to an hour and a half. We like to be as complete as possible on the first day and make sure that all your questions are answered. Most people have more than one area of pain, and we would like to correctly discuss and diagnose each area, and come up with a game plan for you specifically. Please bring in all x-rays and MRI’s if you have them.
Also, please wear comfortable clothing. Normally we do not send out for x-rays or MRI’s, but if one of the doctors feels that other testing is needed we will let you know. Again, if you have any old x-rays or MRI’s please bring them for review on your first visit. After diagnosing your problem, we will then do a full treatment that day. Treatments normally include a combination of therapies, which is different for each and every individual and obviously depends on numerous factors.
The fastest and easiest way to schedule your appointment is to call Tina at (925) 938-7767.
BRIEF PAPERWORK
Upon entering the office, we have some brief paperwork for you to fill out. The paperwork provides us with general information about yourself and your condition, and it’s just a couple pages of pretty easy stuff (see attachments below).
CONSULTATION / HISTORY & EXAMINATION
Once the paperwork has been completed, you will have a consultation with the doctor to discuss your health-related problems, concerns, as well as treatment options. This is a great time for patients, as normally they get numerous questions answered like they have never been answered before and lots of one on one interaction with the doctors.
X-RAY STUDIES
Your condition may require x-rays to either rule out more serious conditions or assist us in developing the most effective treatment plan for you. We refer all patients to a facility over by John Muir Hospital, called Nor-Cal Imaging. They are a great network of MD’s and radiologist that can provide a quick and painless x-ray if needed.
SAME DAY TREATMENT
Once finished with the examination and all appropriate studies, patients will generally be provided with their first treatment during this same visit. This may include spinal adjustments, physiotherapies, and/or soft tissue therapies.
HOME INSTRUCTIONS
Prior to leaving, patients will be given instructions on certain activities or procedures to be conducted at home. This may include ice or heat application instructions, avoidance of certain activities or positions, as well as home exercises and/or stretches. We like to provide patients with as much homework as possible so that the number of times they need to come in for treatment is minimal.
PAPERWORK/FORMS
No one enjoys doing paperwork so we have attached our forms to help speed the process along. Please bring them with you or feel free to email them to our Front Desk along with a photocopy of both sides your insurance card (if applicable):payntonandpayntonappointments@gmail.com
